HUD for automobiles utilizes optical reflection to project important information such as driving speed onto the front windshield. The projected text and image is approximately 1 meter away from the driver’s seat. With HUD, the driver can easily view the image outside the vehicle and the projected information simultaneously. The main design purpose is to allow the driver not need to lower the head to look at the speedometer, leaving the driver in head-up position, thus reducing accidents caused by delayed reaction caused by tilting the head and adjusting to the focuses between looking at speedometer and the outside view. |
